What goes on in that little brain?
So the 'Blue Angel' Jets are in town for the air show. They repeatedly fly over head for a few days making quite the ruckus. Sid used to drop flat on the ground (like the way some people do when they hear gun shots). Not anymore, this is his third year of the air show- he's so grown up now... but this is the first year JR is old enough to react. When he hears the jets overhead he starts shaking like he's seizing.
Today JR and I took Rosco for a walk and the jets flew by. He had his usual reaction, but after the noise was finished, JR started exclaiming, "volcano! volcano!" I thought he was so smart. That loud thundering noise did sound similar to what a volcano would sound like. Then I thought, how does he know what a volcano would sound like in the first place?

Room Mom
Well, I am the official 'Room Mom' for Sid's class. His teacher called and asked me tonight. I am happy that she wants me, and I have noticed that she has taken liking to Sid. It's a relief because I have been so worried about him starting Kindergarten only being four (and a little immature for a four year old). I guess that's one benefit to 50% of his class not speaking English well. LOL. No wonder I am Room Mom... I'm the winner of a one man race!!!

First day of school
Unfortunately Sid got his hatred for morning from me. I thought giving him candy would make him smile... this was the result (see the wad of candy in his mouth)
I am getting so old. Sid had his first day of Kindergarten today. He was really nervous. The teacher had them all sit on the rug, Sid didn't want to. JR went with him and held his hand. When it was time to go Sids usual 'goodbye' is to give each other a 'five' a 'knuckles' a hug and end it with a kiss. You could see he was trying not to cry... brave little guy.
We walked out and I cried.
When I picked him up he LOVED it. And decided he cant wait to go back tomorrow. Whew. What a big relief...
Surfin' USA
On Labor Day we went to the beach. After twenty minutes trying to find parking and twenty minutes of my hubby surfing we turned around and went home.
The fin on his board smacked the top of his foot, he thought it was bruised so kept surfing. As it continued to ache, he glanced down at it and saw a big gaping hole in his foot that starting between his big toe and second toe stretching about half way up his foot (chumming the waters a bit wasn't he).
Ocean water and sand aren't what I would like to rub all over a cut. It looked so very pretty by the time he finally made it to the life guard tower (where they used a hose to clean it- those were highly trained people, I must say). :)
After the emergency room visit, he came home with ten stitches and crutches. My very own tiny Tim. He's taken it like a man though. No pain meds- it must be a guy thing... I'd be popping pills with every ache.
